Separated at Birth

alternative-autos

Is it just me, or does the county’s cute little electric car have a more than passing resemblance to the children’s shopping carts from the neighboring supermarket?

I love how willing people in Port Townsend are to try alternative modes of transport. Some businesses offer bicycle delivery and we have lots of mixed use zoning, so shops and homes can be located within easy walking distance. The Prius is now passe, and various smart cars are so numerous as to have lost their novelty. The vans that smell vaguely of the fryolator are, in fact, using processed cooking oil, and kids at the high school have won acclaim for their work with solar powered cars. It is interesting to live in a place where folks are willing to try something different.

  1. I believe these two cars entered the Magic Castle as one and emerged as two. You were lucky to catch them together for this moment. The little one took off to the Castro District for drinkin’ and dancin’.
